Quitman (Miss.) snapped the five-game winning streak of Vancleave (Miss.), with a 49-17 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, the Panthers led 20-11 at the half.
Quitman expanded its lead to 30 points entering the fourth quarter. QHS scored three times in the third, including once on a
DeQuan Stanley touchdown pass to
Tarvarious Moore.
With the win the Panthers extended their winning streak to 10 games. Quitman defeated Purvis 14-13 last week.
Quitman entered the contest giving up 19.3 points per game this year. QHS held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Bulldogs below the 21.9 points it had been averaging per game.
The loss comes after Vancleave defeated Magee 19-14 last week.
