Softball Recap: Logan Comes Up Short

Logan fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against West Field on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 8-6.

Miley Allen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Quincy Schaefer also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Allen wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Logan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Logan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for West Field, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Logan will venture away from home to challenge Syracuse at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Logan's pitchers better be ready for this one: Syracuse has averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for West Field, they will be playing at home against Bountiful at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bountiful will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something West Field surely won't give up without a fight.
