Cicero-North Syracuse had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Auburn on Saturday. The Northstars blew past the Maroons 8-1. The win continues a trend for the Northstars in their matchups with the Maroons: they've now won four in a row.

Cicero-North Syracuse got a great performance from Landon Cook as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Cicero-North Syracuse let Jaden Zimmer and Christopher Williams run wild. Zimmer went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Williams went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Williams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Petranchuk, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Cicero-North Syracuse's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Auburn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Cicero-North Syracuse will face off against West Genesee at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Northstars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Auburn, they will take on Central Square at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
