Basketball Recap: Rocky Mountain Lobos vs. Legacy Lightning
The Rocky Mountain Lobos lost against the Legacy Lightning back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The game between Rocky Mountain and the Lightning wasn't particularly close, with the Lobos falling 62-48.
Several Lobos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Peyton Matkin, who scored 16 points. Maddox Base was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Joey Delescinskis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Legacy, scoring 26 points. Delescinskis is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandon Domsch, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Rocky Mountain's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for Legacy, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rocky Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Hawks at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Horizon is ranked 67th, while the Lobos are ranked 84th). As for Legacy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the SaberCats at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Eli Nutting and Delescinskis.
