Minersville won the last time they faced Notre Dame and things went their way on Saturday too. The Battlin' Miners put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 5-1 victory. Minersville might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by three goals or more this season.

They hit Notre Dame with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jordan Bowers (2), Camden Rogers, Shane Fessler, and Aidan Ryan.

Minersville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those six games. As for Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coming up, Minersville will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Shenandoah Valley at 4:15 p.m. Minersville will be up against Shenandoah Valley's rather soft defense (which has allowed three goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Notre Dame, they will head out on the road to square off against Tri-Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
