Softball Recap: Seckman Jaguars vs. Lutheran Cougars
If Seckman was riding high off their 11-1 takedown of Mehlville on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Seckman Jaguars took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lutheran Cougars on Thursday.
McKenna Ilko and Kendall Altman stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ilko scored three runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-3, while Altman went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ilko is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Davis, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Seckman's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Lutheran, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.
Seckman will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Farmington at 4:30 p.m. Seckman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Lutheran, they will play host again on Monday to welcome Orchard Farm, where first pitch is scheduled at 4:15 p.m.
