Basketball Game Preview: East Hardy Cougars vs. Moorefield Yellow Jackets

East Hardy is 1-9 against Moorefield since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The East Hardy Cougars will head out to face off against the Moorefield Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

East Hardy fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Tucker County two weeks ago but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Mountain Lions 37-33. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, East Hardy had strong showings from Brooklynn Tinnell, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards, and Chloe Miller, who posted eight points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 69.7% of East Hardy's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Moorefield unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 41-24 to Petersburg.

East Hardy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Moorefield, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

East Hardy beat Moorefield 55-46 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Hardy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
