Soccer Game Preview: Bishop Verot vs. Golden Gate

The Bishop Verot Vikings will head out to square off against the Golden Gate Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Verot is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Thursday, Bishop Verot narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Aubrey Rogers 3-2. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Patriots are ranked 336th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dylan Lukosaitis and Raul Blandon scored all three of Bishop Verot's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Golden Gate). They blew past Community School of Naples 9-0 on Thursday. The result kept the Titans happy, as they haven't lost a game since November 19th.

Bishop Verot's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four games. As for Golden Gate, their record now sits at 6-1-3.

Bishop Verot came up short against Golden Gate in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 2-0. Can Bishop Verot avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
