Baseball Recap: Lincoln East Beats Omaha Westside for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Lincoln East waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Omaha Westside Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Warriors back in April, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Jack Ohler tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brodie McIntire was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Lewis Cockle was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Lincoln East's win bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Omaha Westside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lincoln East will square off against rival Lincoln Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Omaha Westside is set to face off against their familiar foe Lincoln North Star on Monday.
