Wheeler has gone 9-1 against Thrasher recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Wheeler Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Thrasher Rebels at 7:00 p.m. Thrasher took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wheeler, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Wheeler turned things around against Tupelo Christian Prep on Thursday. They managed a 61-57 victory over the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Thrasher played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Biggersville, falling 88-63. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Lions are ranked 88th).

Wheeler's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-10. As for Thrasher, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Wheeler barely slipped by Thrasher in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 63-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wheeler since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
