Molly Kane looked comfortable as she tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Kennedy Trieb was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ayla Ranck, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Marissa/Coulterville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Greenville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Mulberry Grove on Thursday.
Payton White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Haylee Clark, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Zoee Englert also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Marissa/Coulterville's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Greenville, their record is now 20-7-1.
