Soccer Game Preview: Post Falls vs. Timberlake

The Post Falls Trojans will take on the Timberlake Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Post Falls' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Post Falls is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy on Wednesday. The Trojans fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Post Falls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho soccer rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Timberlake brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They came out on top against Grangeville by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for Timberlake as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Timberlake's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Post Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Everything went Post Falls' way against Timberlake in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Post Falls made off with an 8-0 win. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
