Escalon and Ripon are an even 5-5 against one another since August of 2021, but not for long. The Cougars will square off against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Escalon came up short against Ripon Christian on Thursday, falling 3-0.

While Escalon was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-21, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Ripon got the win against Sonora on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Ripon was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-9.

Ripon's win bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Escalon, they dropped their record down to 12-14 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Escalon suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Ripon in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
