Volleyball Recap: Mitchell Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Mitchell had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Scottsburg Warriors by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bluejackets of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Mitchell sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 14-25, 15-10.

Miley Teague paced Mitchell's offense, picking up nine kills. Teague got some help from Abigail Fountain and her 18 assists. Fountain was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Scottsburg can attribute much of their success to Jules Paris, who had ten digs. Those ten digs gave Paris a new career-high.

Mitchell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Salem on the 16th. As for Scottsburg, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Southport on the 16th.
