Baseball Recap: Lely Comes Up Short

Lely extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They came up short against the First Baptist Academy Lions, falling 15-0. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

As for First Baptist Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the contest before.

For First Baptist Academy's part, Jaylin Lee looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Lee posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025.

Looking ahead, Lely will square off against Mason Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for First Baptist Academy, they will take on Southwest Florida Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
