Basketball Recap: Brooke Kesey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Boyd Christian over Boca Raton

Boyd Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 61-44 to the Boca Raton Bobcats.

Boyd Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooke Kesey, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds. Kesey is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Macie Bush, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 15 points and three steals.

Boyd Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Boca Raton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Boyd Christian will square off against Franklin Road Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Franklin Road Christian will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Boyd Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Boca Raton, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Palm Beach Gardens at 7:30 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
