Volleyball Recap: Philomath Takes a Loss

Philomath managed to slip by Newport the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Warriors came up short against the Cubs on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-13, 25-17.

Philomath's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Newport, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Philomath has already played their next contest (against Marshfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Newport, they will take on West Salem at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
