Basketball Preview: Forge Christian Fury vs. Denver Christian Thunder        
        
		
            The Forge Christian Fury will head out to  challenge the Denver Christian Thunder  at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. Forge Christian has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the  matchup with three straight  losses, while Denver Christian will come in with 14 straight  victories.
Last Thursday, Forge Christian came up short against Kent Denver  and fell  56-47. While losing is never fun, the Fury can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings  (they are ranked 211th, while the Sun Devils are ranked 93rd).

Despite the  defeat, Forge Christian had strong showings from  Tiffany Rubio, who  almost  dropped  a double-double with 21  points and nine  rebounds, and  Finley Queen, who  dropped  a double-double with 13 points and 11  boards. The dominant performance gave  Rubio a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aleeza Olson, who  posted eight  points and three  steals.
 Even though they lost, Forge Christian  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with ten  offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least nine  offensive boards in three consecutive  games.
 Meanwhile, Denver Christian hadn't done well against Colorado Academy recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Friday. Denver Christian secured  a  44-38 W over Colorado Academy.
 Denver Christian pushed their record up to 21-1 with the  win, which was their 19th straight  on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.9 points over those games. As for Forge Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
 Things could have been worse for Forge Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took  a  54-37 loss to Denver Christian in their previous meeting  back in December of 2023.
