Basketball Recap: Leander Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Round Rock, Leander was happy to have turned things around on Monday. It was close, but they capped 2025 with a 36-33 victory over the Temple Wildcats. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Leander's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Temple, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Leander will challenge Cedar Park at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Temple, they will face off against Copperas Cove at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
