            There's no place like home for California, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Dougherty Valley Wildcats  1-0 on Tuesday. The Grizzlies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

California got a great performance from  Audrey Cotton as she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. With that strong performance,  Cotton is now averaging an impressive 5.2  strikeouts per game.
 On the hitting side,  Shayla Santolucito was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run. She also  scored a  run, marking her first of the season.
California is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.0 runs over those games. Dougherty Valley is  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-4.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. California will face off against Clayton Valley Charter at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. California's pitchers better be ready for this one: Clayton Valley Charter has averaged an impressive 7.7  runs per game this season. As for Dougherty Valley, they will square off against Monte Vista at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
