Softball Game Preview: Tyler Legacy Raiders vs. Royse City Bulldogs

Tyler Legacy hasn't had much luck against Royse City recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tyler Legacy Raiders will be playing at home against the Royse City Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Tyler Legacy turned things around against North Forney on Friday. They came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 6-3.

Aubrie Kirk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on ReNaa Hicks, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Royse City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Forney a 1-0 shutout on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since February 16, 2024.

Royse City pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Tyler Legacy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Tyler Legacy couldn't quite get it done against Royse City in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-4. Can Tyler Legacy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
