Baseball Recap: Lewiston Takes a Loss

Lewiston came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-2 to the Oxford Hills Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Blue Devils have suffered since April 27, 2024.

Jeffrey Randall made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Caron, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Lewiston now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Oxford Hills, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lewiston is set to face off against their familiar foe Camden Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Oxford Hills will square off against rival Bangor at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 3.5, the Rams 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
