Soccer Game Preview: Herron vs. Cathedral

The Herron Achaeans will square off against the Cathedral Fighting Irish at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Herron's victory against Purdue Polytechnic wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Achaeans narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Techies 2-1. Herron haven't had any issues with Purdue Polytechnic recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Cathedral faced Covenant Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Fighting Irish came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 3-1.

Cathedral hit Covenant Christian with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jordan Wedges, Jackson Massillamany, and Karol Molina-Gomez.

Cathedral's win bumped their record up to 9-5-3. As for Herron, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-13.

Herron might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Cathedral when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Can the Achaeans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
