Volleyball Recap: Hilliard Davidson Victorious

Hilliard Davidson hadn't done well against Olentangy Liberty recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hilliard Davidson was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 16-25, 25-15, 25-13.

Max Weinandy paced Hilliard Davidson's offense, picking up 18 kills. Weinandy got some help from Logan Asp and his 45 assists. Finally, Weinandy was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Despite the defeat, Olentangy Liberty saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sreekar Sunkara had four digs and two aces. Sunkara is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 15 or more in each of the last five games he's played.

The win got Hilliard Davidson back to even at 6-6. As for Olentangy Liberty, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5.
