Volleyball Game Preview: Durham Academy Cavaliers vs. Ravenscroft Ravens

The Durham Academy Cavaliers will venture away from home to square off against the Ravenscroft Ravens at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.

Durham Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering New Life Camp just ended the team's eight-match winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Storm, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cavaliers have suffered since September 2nd.

While Durham Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into New Life Camp's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Ravenscroft entered their tilt with St. Mary's on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 3-0 win.

The victory didn't come easy: St. Mary's scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-19.

Ravenscroft's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Durham Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Durham Academy beat Ravenscroft 3-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
