Soccer Game Preview: Montevallo vs. Northside

The Montevallo Bulldogs will challenge the Northside Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Montevallo will be strutting in after a win while Northside will be coming in after a loss.

Montevallo's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Tarrant with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering Montevallo have won seven contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Northside came up short against American Christian Academy on Thursday, falling 7-1. The defeat continues a trend for Northside in their meetings with American Christian Academy: they've now lost seven in a row.

Northside's goal came courtesy of Carlee Bates, who's now up to seven this season.

Montevallo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those six matchups. As for Northside, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Montevallo was able to grind out a solid victory over Northside when the teams last played back in March, winning 2-0. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
