The Osceola Kowboys are taking a road trip to face off against the Bishop Moore Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Osceola is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Last Thursday, Osceola made easy work of Fort Meade and carried off an 11-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Kowboys, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Milanys Lopez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Destiny Ferrer was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Samanthalea Edwards also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Osceola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Bishop Moore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Bishop Kenny.
Ariana Lara made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Sabrina Griffin was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
Bishop Moore's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Osceola, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Osceola hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .365. However, it's not like Bishop Moore struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Osceola's way against Bishop Moore in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Osceola made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Osceola since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
