It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Coral Gables can now relate to. They fell just short of the Cypress Bay Lightning by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Cavaliers' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Coral Gables wouldn't go down easily and took Cypress Bay into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-14, 24-26, 25-27, 15-12.

Natasha Macau paced Coral Gables' offense, picking up 29 kills. Macau got some help from Corina McDanal and her 43 assists. Bianca Benson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Julia Diaz, who had 19 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Coral Gables' loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Cypress Bay, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-7.

Coral Gables does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cypress Bay, they will welcome Doral Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
