Baseball Recap: PikeView Panthers vs. Independence Patriots
PikeView has not done well against Independence recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The PikeView Panthers had just enough and edged the Independence Patriots out 7-5. This was a revenge contest for PikeView, as the team was forced to settle for an 11-1 defeat when these two played last Tuesday.
Landon Wyatt was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammy Lyle, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
PikeView's win bumped their record up to 20-10. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
As of now, neither PikeView nor Independence have any future games scheduled.
