Basketball Recap: Westside Christian Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Westside Christian put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 63-58 W over the Newport Cubs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Westside Christian pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Newport, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Westside Christian and Elmira will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Westside Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Elmira likes a good challenge. Newport and Molalla will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
