Softball Recap: Shannon Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Shannon's offense. They came up short against the Amory Panthers on Monday, falling 16-0. The Red Raiders have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meetings.

Shannon's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Amory, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Shannon will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Tishomingo County at 5:00 p.m. Tishomingo County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Shannon's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Amory, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Amory Panthers face off against Ripley Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
