 The North Providence Cougars will look to defend their home field  on Monday against the Tiverton Tigers at 11:00  a.m. North Providence is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
 North Providence fought the good fight in their extra-innings  matchup against East Providence  on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Townies by a score of  4-3.
 North Providence saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Orlando Rivas Jr, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3. Rivas Jr is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games he's  played.
 Meanwhile, Tiverton suffered a  tough 11-1 defeat at the hands of Chariho  on Saturday. Tiverton has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 North Providence's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Tiverton, they now  have a losing record at 1-2.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Monday as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Providence has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.5  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tiverton struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 8. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
