Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask South Plaquemines). They put the hurt on the John Ehret Patriots with a sharp  21-11 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Hurricanes, who have now won seven matchups by ten  runs or more  so far this season.
 Rod Parker made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. He also  tossed a  walk, which is notable because South Plaquemines is undefeated when he allows at  most  one  walk, but 4-7 otherwise. Parker was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in five of his six plate appearances. Parker is  crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: he's   snagged at least one every time he's  taken the field this season.
 In other batting news,  Javonta Gomez was a standout: he scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high.  Khi Ancar was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in four of his six plate appearances.
South Plaquemines' victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 8-7. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for John Ehret, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost 15 of their last 19 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-20 record  this season.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Plaquemines will challenge Bonnabel at 3:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Bruins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.6  runs per game on average), something the Hurricanes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for John Ehret, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Metairie Park Country Day  at 4:00  p.m.
