Softball Game Preview: George West Longhorns vs. West Oso Bears

The George West Longhorns are taking a road trip to square off against the West Oso Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Oso took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on George West, who comes in off a win.

George West took a 14-run defeat the last time they faced off against Aransas Pass, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Longhorns narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Panthers 8-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Longhorns as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, West Oso was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost 13-3 to Taft.

West Oso saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrianna Lopez-Tijerina, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

West Oso's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for George West, their win bumped their record up to 5-16.

Everything went George West's way against West Oso when the teams last played back in March, as George West made off with a 14-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
