Softball Recap: Clay Drops Season-High Score on Southview

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clay). They put the hurt on the Southview Cougars with a sharp 25-8 victory on Wednesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Clay has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Southview, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Clay will face off against rival Ross at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Southview is set to challenge their familiar foe Napoleon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
