Ashbrook waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They took down the Kings Mountain Mountaineers 77-60. This was payback for the Greenwave, who suffered an 81-78 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ashbrook had a senior duo take command as Issac Byers Jr. went 8 of 15 en route to 21 points and five steals and Jamari Smith went 6 of 11 on his way to 18 points and five assists. The contest was Byers Jr.'s fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazari Hall, who posted 12 points.

Ashbrook was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Kings Mountain's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kee'Donn Linney, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Spicer, who put up 11 points and five boards.

Ashbrook pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for Kings Mountain, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Ashbrook wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-55 victory against Crest on the 9th. As for Kings Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-70 loss against Huss on the 9th.
