Basketball Game Preview: Green Hope Falcons vs. Apex Friendship Patriots

Green Hope and Apex Friendship are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Green Hope Falcons will welcome the Apex Friendship Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Hope is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season.

Green Hope is headed into Tuesday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They fell 49-42 to Wake Forest on Thursday.

Despite the loss, Green Hope got top-tier performance from Abigail Brown, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. That was a full 57.1% of Green Hope's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Bella Cook was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven boards and four blocks.

Even though they lost, Green Hope smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

While Apex Friendship didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 64-35 win over Middle Creek. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 27 points or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Apex Friendship and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Green Hope, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
