Softball Recap: Fallbrook Starts Season with Loss at Home

Fallbrook unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Montgomery Aztecs on Monday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Olivia Castillo was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madison Bowman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Coming up, Fallbrook will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Lincoln at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Montgomery, they will take on Sweetwater in a tournament on Wednesday.
