Baseball Recap: High Point Central Bison vs. Dudley Panthers
High Point Central had lost 13 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-18 to make it 14. They lost 16-6 to the Dudley Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 1-0 defeat on April 10th.
As for Dudley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. The result was nothing new for Dudley, who have now won nine matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
For Dudley's part, Jamarr Parker was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Parker was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Dudley let Antonio Lee Jr. and Jayven Baize run wild. Lee Jr. went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple, while Baize got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Lee Jr. has become a key player for Dudley: the team is 8-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Locklear, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
High Point Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dudley, they have already played their next contest, a 14-0 win against Southern Guilford on the 30th.
