Delphi Community has gone a perfect 7-0 against Tri-Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Oracles will head out to square off against the Trojans at 5:45 p.m. Delphi Community will be strutting in after a victory while Tri-Central will be coming in after a loss.
Delphi Community came out on top against Benton Central on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Oracles put the hurt on the Bison with a sharp 12-4 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Oracles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Keygan Elliott made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Elliott was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Brett Huffman was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Xaine Tessier was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Delphi Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benton Central only posted a batting average of .208.
Meanwhile, Tri-Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Carroll, falling 11-1.
Tri-Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Arnold, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Tri-Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Delphi Community, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.
Tri-Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Delphi Community hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for Tri-Central, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Delphi Community's hitters?
Everything went Delphi Community's way against Tri-Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Delphi Community made off with a 13-1 win. Do the Oracles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
