It was a good run, but Groesbeck unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 65-55 to the Normangee Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Goats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1164th, while the Panthers are ranked 469th).

Groesbeck's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Normangee, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Groesbeck and Teague will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Normangee will take on Iola in a holiday battle at at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Normangee is facing Iola at the right time seeing as Iola is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
