Softball Game Preview: Plattsburgh Hornets vs. Saranac Spartans

The Plattsburgh Hornets will square off against the Saranac Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Plattsburgh will be strutting in after a win while Saranac will be coming in after a loss.

Plattsburgh barely beat Moriah the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hornets blew past the Vikings 34-3 on Friday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Saranac came up short against Ticonderoga on Friday and fell 12-7. The loss put an end to the Spartans' undefeated start to the season.

Plattsburgh's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Saranac, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Plattsburgh suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Saranac when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
