Volleyball Recap: Taylor Wildcats vs. Lake Highland Prep Highlanders
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Taylor can now relate to. They came up short against the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-11, 25-6.
Kami Rose paced Taylor's offense, picking up five kills. Rose got some help from Emely Cardenas and her eight assists.
Lake Highland Prep was led to victory by Elle White and Juli Rosario-Mendez. White had 18 assists, while Rosario-Mendez had nine digs. White is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Alex Kennedy also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Taylor's loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Lake Highland Prep, they pushed their record up to 21-6 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Taylor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Highland Prep, they will be playing at home against The Villages Charter at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
