Baseball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Tipton-Rosemark Academy

While Tipton-Rosemark Academy's victory against University School of Jackson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bruins a 1-0 shutout on Monday. The Rebels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bruins, too.

Tipton-Rosemark Academy got a great performance from Vito Ofiara as he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Ofiara also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Rebels are 6-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 9-10 otherwise.

At the plate, Tipton-Rosemark Academy's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Marcum, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Tipton-Rosemark Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-12. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for University School of Jackson, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-10.

Tipton-Rosemark Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bruins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday.
