Vallivue had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Columbia on Friday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 19-1 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by nine runs or more this season.
Cali Child and Bella Magallon did most of the damage at the plate: Child went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Magallon went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits Child has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sophia Kassotis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Vallivue kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Emmett suffered their closest defeat since May 11, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Middleton by a score of 3-1. The contest marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Oakley Scheibe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
Emmett's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Vallivue, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
Emmett's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Vallivue hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .444. It's a different story for Emmett, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Vallivue's hitters?
