Basketball Recap: Johnston Takes a Loss

Johnston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 55-48 to the Tolman Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 57-46 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

It was another big night for John Hilaire, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards for Tolman. Hilaire is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Kingston Carvalho was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Tolman, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Barrington the next time they take the court. Johnston will head out to face Barrington at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Tolman will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
