The Aragon Dons will head out to take on the Woodside Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Aragon is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Half Moon Bay on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Dons lost 41-20 to the Cougars. The game was a 20-20 toss-up at halftime, but the Dons couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the defeat, Aragon had strong showings from Isaiah Johnson, who threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt, and Nick Castroviejo, who picked up 157 receiving yards and one TD. Castroviejo was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 61 yards.

Meanwhile, Woodside put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sequoia 42-14. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Ravens are ranked 604th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Woodside's win came from a few key players Aragon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Daniel Torres, who rushed for 60 yards and one score on only seven carries. Alex Valencia helped out on the ground, rushing for 81 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Woodside, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of JJ Lange, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Woodside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Isaac Pech, Kolby Nelson, Lange, and Henry Schwab picked up one apiece. Pech has been hot recently, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last three times he's played.

Woodside's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Aragon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
