Baseball Recap: Red Boiling Springs Takes a Loss

Red Boiling Springs extended their losing streak to ten on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-17 in the process. They came up short against the Macon County Tigers, falling 15-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Friday.

As for Macon County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-9. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

For Macon County's part, Hayes Polston made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Polston was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other pitching news, Kaden Woodard looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Polston wasn't the only one making solid contact as 12 players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Flowers, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run. Dylan Blackwood was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Red Boiling Springs has already played their next contest (against Trousdale County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Macon County, they have also already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against DeKalb County on the 17th.
