Softball Recap: Petersburg Falls Short of Oak Glen in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Petersburg can now relate to. They fell just short of the Oak Glen Golden Bears by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Vikings haven't been shut out since back in March.

Olivia Kimble was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Petersburg and nudges their season record down to 13-10. As for Oak Glen, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Petersburg nor Oak Glen have any future games scheduled.
