Basketball Recap: Inglemoor Wins Going Away Against Highline

On Friday, the Inglemoor Vikings strolled past the Highline Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 79-65. The Vikings pushed the score to 64-42 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates cut but never quite recovered from.

It was another big night for Reuhen Bhalod, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 19 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 31 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Aman Sterling, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points and five assists.

Inglemoor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zayne Cola, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Cola a new career-high in assists (seven). Corey Crosby was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds.

Inglemoor's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Highline, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Inglemoor will face off against Foster at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Inglemoor is facing Foster at the right time seeing as Foster is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Highline, they will take on Kent-Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Highline is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season.
